Strongest Year Yet for Donation-Based Fitness Initiative

Last month, ten local non-profit organizations in Routt County received a check for $2,000 each from Rise Steamboat. The donation-based fitness initiative, which was started in 2017 by Reall and Jason Regan, proved 2021 to be their strongest year yet despite operating through a pandemic.

Every Tuesday throughout the summer, around 50 attendees per week took part in a fitness class, either indoors at Steamboat Fit at 6AM or outside at the Brent Romick Rodeo Arena at 7:15AM. “I think people like what we offer for a couple of reasons,” Reall said. “They like the fresh air, the beautiful mountain setting and being in a group class that is in a safe outdoor setting. They are also motivated by the fact that their donation is helping community members in need.”

Options for Those In-Person and Out-of-Town Participants

This summer the Regans added an indoor option with a zoom link for out-of-town participants. When air quality dropped due to wildfires, Rise was able to carry on at Steamboat Fit. “We were so grateful we could continue to raise money,” Reall said.

Donors and attendees contributed $10,000 and another $10,000 was matched by the Colorado Group Realty Charitable Foundation. “Thanks to the generosity of Colorado Group Realty, 2021 was our best year yet” she said.
